So I heard something on the radio that got my attention today, and it made me think. I will share it with you in a moment, but first...
I want YOU to tell me what YOU think.
YOU CAN STAY ANONYMOUS! Or not, it's up to you, but I'm just curious about other's thoughts on this.
It's about American politics, and I'm Canadian, so I don't get a vote, but I do get to hear a lot of the media going on about the upcoming election.
So, think a bit if you like... but come back and tell me about it. I want to learn. I do not want people to be attacked for their opinions, so if you don't agree with someone else's thoughts then please do so respectfully.
What I heard was a father telling his daughter:
"Of course I'm going to vote for Obama. I'm just not going to put his sign on my lawn!"
My head was going all around this one. Is he embarrassed to show his neighbors who he supports? Is he racist - or not? What does this teach his daughter? Or is he just just a neat freak about his lawn?
Spill your thoughts people. Be it serious or sarcastic, just be real. Not sure about your opinion? Then add on your question. Maybe we can have our own debate.

I don't get politics... or grown-ups
Another US politician is in trouble for possible liasons with a call-girl. Why should I care? How come I never hear about Canadian politicians getting into this trouble?
Is it because Canadian politicians don't get into this sort of trouble? Or do they just not get caught? Do they not get into this trouble because they have different morals, or because these temptations aren't hanging around the same halls? Is it because our media doesn't report it? Or is our media too busy with what's happening across the border that they can't be bothered with reporting what's really going on at home?
Enough about the media... what about these people getting involved? I'm not trying to stand on some high-moral podium, I just want to say 'I don't get it'. They have a family. They have people surrounding them who care and/or who are watching their every move. Shouldn't they be occupied with their family and their work (which they get paid obnoxiously high sums for) that they shouldn't have time to spend elsewhere? What got into them that made them so selfish and inconsiderate? Didn't they get this job because they're supposed to be somewhat smart? Aren't they supposed to be mature grown-ups? I don't get it. I hope I never do.
